Barnes ably conjures the kind of haunting setting and atmosphere required for this Event Horizon-esque novel… Recommended for fans of claustrophobic space horror.But then again, Voller excels at stating the obvious and being exceptionally annoying while doing so. Resource-limitations and gravity are not really a concern and are deal with a hand-wavy 'gravity generator' type scenario. This novel had all that I could want but it took me a really long time to connect with these characters.

Just the thought of being permanently gravity-bound and surrounded by so many people again makes my breath rush in and out faster. We know she survived, because she is here, but Claire is the first to admit she's an unreliable narrator, so everyone is having trouble believing her recollections.

This extreme bi-polar captain was such a broken character, the love story was so painful to listen to, I just couldn't take it anymore.
