We love that these leggings don't pill or shrink in the wash. But after several wears and washes, we noticed that a few threads started to come loose along some of the seams.

Most leggings today are made with a combination of combination of polyester, nylon, cotton, or spandex, and you should choose the type of leggings you buy based on the activities you plan on doing in them. For instance, if you want a pair of workout leggings, then skip the cotton pairs, as cotton tends to show off ev-er-y-thing (you’ve been warned). And while polyester breathes better than nylon and is less likely to pill over time, nylon tends to be stronger with greater stretch ability. Determine the warmth factor Although we think they're worth the investment, these leggings are pricier than most other pairs we tested.We found that the waistband is on the tighter side, which we appreciated because it helps keeps the leggings in place all day long. Fleece-lined leggings are only waterproof if they've been finished with a water-repellent coating, like lululemon's Fast and Free High-Rise Tight. Since they're made with cotton, we recommend these leggings for low-impact activities. They're not ideal for running or working up a sweat.

Next, we perform a few squats to test the leggings' elasticity and opacity. Can we see our underwear color, pattern, or lines through the leggings when we bend down? The fabric should be very stretchy and solid, with no signs of sheering out. We realized that the waistband tends to slip down during high-impact activities, so we don't recommend these for running or intense workouts.Best for runners who need lots of storage, especially if the waistband of your leggings tends to slide down while you run.
