About this deal

The Dark Knight sees Jasons potential to be a hero-as well as the rage and revenge that torment him. Unfortunately, his other persona emerges once more, and he punches his enemy, causing Batman to let him go.

then we jump into the 'new' origin, where we see Dick Grayson's time as Robin end, and open the door for Jason. Although, in "Two-Face, Part I", when he walked out of the hospital room, his left leg wasn't affected in any way. I remember at one point I had Batman getting a baseball bat broken over his upper torso, which sent him down and out. He then tells Batman he'll detonate some dynamite that's connected to the crane unless the coin says otherwise. But, this seems to be a common failing in DC's current editorial office: they don't feel like their collections deserve explanations even when they really need them.

I loved his two issue backstory, I thought the house for troubled kids was a good plot point, I thought him constantly stealing people's car tires was hilarious, I thought the fact that when Bruce looked at him he saw a mix of Dick and himself was amazing. I can't help but wonder if a crisis event or something similar happened in between those, allowing us to get this new and improved origin story. I discovered you through your comics work way back when, so this little glimpse into the background of that world was very interesting to read. Just Another Kid on Crime Alley," "Two of a Kind," and "Second Chance," is the real meat of this collection, though Max Allan Collins' scripts are somewhat more juvenile than I remember, with a lot of on-the-nose dialogue (and too much talk in general). The first story seeks to correct some pre-Crisis elements surrounding Dick Grayson’s retirement as Robin.Written by acclaimed mystery velist Max Allan Collins, best kwn for his graphic vel The Road to Perdition, which was made into a Academy Award-winning movie starring Tom Hanks, Paul Newman, and Jude Law. With a career dating back to the early 1970s, he is best known for "cosmic" tales and space opera; for revamping the Marvel Comics characters Captain Marvel and Adam Warlock; and for creating or co-creating the Marvel characters Thanos and Shang-Chi, Master of Kung Fu. Frankly that Clayface story which I went out of my way to seek out after reading this is as good or better than the best tale in Second Chances.

The stories here focus mainly on establishing a grittier tone for the post-Crisis Batman while developing Jason Todd, who served as Robin. Once I learned about the editorial and artist difficulties on the rest of your run from you years ago, it helped me appreciate them in that there really ARE good stories in there trying to get out from under all those problems. Two-Face's alternate personalities would later come into conflict with one another again in The New Batman Adventures episode " Judgment Day", in which he creates a third persona known as "The Judge", who unknowingly almost kills himself by trying to execute Two-Face. The choice to include two issues prior to the advent of the new Todd is entirely bizarre, especially given the lack of explanation for the Todd reboot. Following the end of his partnership with Robin, Batman now has a new Boy Wonder, streetwise kid Jason Todd.Optar por ler Nightwing: Year One, escrito pelo muito consistente Chuck Dixon, que escreveu também as histórias Year One do primeiro Robin e da Batgirl.
